(More customer reviews)The wireless adapter for the XBOX 360 by Microsoft works great but it is too expensive and impractical to use because it can only be used with the XBOX 360. This fine piece of hardware by IOGEAR works flawlessly with the XBOX 360. I even plugged it in to my home computer and accessed my email with it!
One word of warning though. I had my router custom set with DD-WRT firmware and it caused a conflict. I spent several hours trying to solve the problem and I finally fixed it and thought I would share my answer to anyone experiencing similar frustration. I use WPA2 and I had my router set to WPA2-PSK only, which is the root of the problem. If you cant connect with the IOGEAR with WPA2, go to your Wireless tab, then Security and where it has the menu for the encryption type, change it from "WPA2-PSK only" to "WPA2-PSK mixed". It may also help to adjust your router if its set to AES, try TKIP, or vice-versa.
If I had not stumbled across the solution, I would have sent this wireless bridge back and missed out on a remarkable deal.
PROS:
At least $30 cheaper than Microsoft's proprietary adapter at the time of this writing.
Can be used with any device that has an ethernet plug, such as an HDTV, a computer, or a Roku unit. (Microsoft's adapter only works with the XBOX 360).
It draws power from any device containing a powered USB port.
Wireless-N
CONS:
None that I can tell, but if there are any I will update this post.
