(More customer reviews)I purchased this as the backbone for my mother's work computer. She enjoys office equipment with a small footprint, thought I felt that the last Mini-ITX was a bit of a compromise (it came with an Intel Atom processor, not bad for a net top but underpowered for a workstation). When I saw this with the LGA 1156 socket and a PCI Express X16 I was intantly intrigued. I had planned to support dual large monitors on a Windows 7 setup, but I hadn't anticipated that this is supported off the board with HDMI and DVI inputs. Windows doesn't rate the onboard graphics very high but it's more than acceptable for a workstation and it's nice to know that if I cared to upgrade I could.Support for DDR3 1333 and a core i3 processor means that my Mother no longer has to wait to open up Firefox, Excel and Peachtree and can work with all three no sweat.
Bottom line: the board worked right out of the box and it doesn't feel like a compromise despite the small form factor. With notebook hard drives at 7200 RPM I've built a silent box that handles anything currently thrown at it and could probably even game if I wanted to. It's been a great buy and having a computer this small gives me more than a little pride.
As far as a gripe, be careful about buying aftermarket heatsinks and fans for the processor. They may list LGA 1156 compatibility but mini-ITX boards have a lot more resistors and crap closer to the socket than other form factors. Be sure that what you buy will fit on this board specifically, not just Socket LGA 1156 in general.
