BluRays load quick and plays smooth as well as Youtube 1080p hd vids.
3D Videos look absolutely Great!
Cons: Textured finish feels REALLY plasticy but it beats the super glossy fingerprint magnets like HP laptops. The minimal glossy portions do look really nice though. Would prefer a matte finish
Backlit keyboard could be a little too bright at times. The raised keys bleed a lot of the white led light especially when looking at in from an angle.
ANNOYINGLY LOUD beeps when you adjust the volume. It not only beeps when you tap the volume button but will continue to beep as it raises and lowers the volume NOTE: its not Toshiba its the Realtek soundcard that makes the beep noise which can be muted in the volume mixer.
The HUGE battery doesn't sit tight on the laptop so every time you set it down you get a clunk noise. In fact it will just completely wobble around when you shake it. Doesn't affect the functionality just the overall solid feel of the laptop.
Tons of inflated pre loaded software!
Other Thoughts: I've been using this laptop for 2 weeks straight now and i absolutely love it!
The Eco mode button is truly amazing. It shuts off the backlit keyboard, cuts power to the bluray drive, de-tunes the processor,and actually shows you your power consumption essentially bringing up your battery life to 5 hrs.
i got max about 5.5 with no wifi just photo editing. 4.5 hours of netflix streaming. 2-2.5 hours of playing need for speed hot pursuit with an xbox360 wireless remote plugged in. Also in Eco mode the laptop is almost silent. Right now the CPU fan is off and the hard drive is pretty inaudible.
The 5400rpm hd is pretty fast. i swapped in an old 7200 WD Scorpio Black and using ATTO the 5400 hd blows it away.
I've played Batman Arkham Asylum, NFS Hot Pursuit, and Civilization 5 on high to max settings in 2d and 3d and the GT540m kills!
This is the best 3d, Bluray Burning, Gaming, gen2 i7, laptop on the market Price vs Performance vs Feature wise.
