(More customer reviews)Like the first two reviewers, I bought this (the 2050 version) a short time ago and enjoyed close to 10 movies before it started freezing (either with a matrix-esque green screen of gibberish, or no signal from the hdmi out). After unplugging the unit and plugging it back in, it worked for a little bit. Tried it on two TVs, just in case something wierd happened with the HDMI (since the first TV uses Samsung's AnyNet program, I though maybe a signal from the TV was confusing the DVD player). The DVD player freezes on both sets. Yes, the second Memorex is going back to the store.
Since I had already thrown away the box by the time the unit failed, I was told to send it to a location (fortunately local) and to send $7.50 along with it... The warranty people were fairly nice and adequate in response time, but I'd rather have a working upscaling DVD player.
I eventually picked up a Samsung 1080p Upconverting DVD Player which has yet to experience any problems.
