I took it apart and did what i could do to get it to work some of the time. it's easier to just switch the fiber optic cables rather that try to get this piece of junk to work when you turn the switch. very sorry i wasted my $5 plus shipping on this very cheap piece of junk.

(More customer reviews)The item is easy to setup and use but over time the sound quality just gets worse and worse.
I purchased the item in the summer of '07, and now, 8 months later, I get sound drop outs every few minutes lasting for a second or 2 in port 1, which is what I have my cable tv's dolby digital running through. If you go up to the unit and turn the dial back and forth, the drop outs will stop for a bit.
The unit is now to the point that if I even touch it, the sound will turn off and is very difficult to get back working again.
I would not purchase this unit again.
